In Simferopol Higher Professional School of Electronic and

was raised in the air the first in the Crimea solar balloon. The diameter of
the aerostat is 4.5 meters, the height is about 6 meters. The production of
the balloon took 5 days.
The launch was made without fans to fill the aerostat, without heating the
air, etc. The lifting force for the aerostat of this size under normal
conditions is about 10-14 kg. Balloons of this type are capable of flying to
a height of about 15-18 km.
The principle of action is a thermal aerostat. Heating of air in such a
balloon is carried out by warming the shell of the ball with sun rays.
The shell of such aerostats is made of dark material for
maximum absorption of solar energy (solar radiation energy reaches 1000 W /
m2).
It is very convenient to apply for this as big as possible (160 liters)
garbage bags of black color.
These bags are made of a strong enough and thin (light) polyethylene (or use
whole rolls of film, of which such packages are manufactured).
There are some restrictions on the flights of such aerostats: cloudy weather,
wind, too high air temperature, etc. It is best to launch these balloons
early in the morning in sunny weather, when the atmospheric fluctuations are
minimal.During the launch, video camera was attached to the balloon
